1How long will it take for me to receive my order?
Flying Fish Press is a very small studio operation, so it often takes multiple weeks for an ordered book to be ready to ship. Orders can take between 6-8 weeks depending on the length of the order queue at a given time. I will email an estimated date of delivery when an order is received.
2Why aren’t all copies of an edition assembled at the same time?
All the components for an edition are letterpress printed at the same time, but books are assembled in batches of between 3-5 copies, depending on how complex the assembly process for a given edition is. Some Flying Fish Press books take up to 50 hours of labor to complete, which is why we can’t take the time to assemble the whole edition at once.
3What is the typical edition size for Flying Fish Press books?
50 copies is the typical artist's book edition size for recent editions. Editions from before 2012 were sometimes 100 copies or more.
4Why the change in edition size?
I discovered over the years that my books often take a huge number of labor hours to assemble, so editions of 50 copies are much more feasible for me and my studio assistants to handle in my small studio practice.
