Half-Century

The text of Half-Century considers the complexity of our relationship to time in our daily lives. We think we understand how time works, but our public beliefs about time may not sync up with our private beliefs about time. Our conception of time changes over the course of a lifetime but we often only realize this at milestones and/or traumatic moments in our lives. Imagery includes a variety of large wood type numbers that were printed at the Hamilton Wood Type Museum in Two Rivers, WI, along with an abstract visual timeline illustrating a pattern of significant life events over a 50-year period.

Letterpress printed from wood type and photopolymer plates. Presented in a box with a magnetic closure.
